Refund and Return Policy
1. Who you are buying from
Products and services on Wakato are sold by independent businesses ("Sellers"). Wakato Inc. ("Wakato") is the merchant of record for every purchase: the charge on your statement is from Wakato, your payment is held by Wakato until your order is delivered, and refunds are issued by Wakato to the payment method you used. Questions about an order go to the Seller first, through the order's own conversation, and to Wakato at connect@wakato.io if the Seller does not resolve them.
2. Your payment is held until delivery
When you buy, Wakato holds your payment instead of paying the Seller at once. The Seller is paid only after the order is delivered — when you confirm delivery, or, if you do nothing, after the delivery window closes without a problem being reported. Until then your money can be returned to you in full.
3. Cancelling before delivery
You may cancel an order for a full refund at any time before the Seller has shipped it (physical products), started the work (services), or before you have downloaded or accessed it (digital products). Ask from the order page, or write to the Seller in the order's conversation.
4. Physical products
- Not received: if your order has not arrived within the delivery window shown on the order, report it from the order page and you will be refunded in full.
- Damaged, defective, or not as described: report it from the order page within 14 days of delivery, with photos. You will receive a replacement or a full refund, and the Seller covers return shipping where a return is needed.
- Changed your mind: unless the listing states a different return window, you may return an unused item in its original condition within 14 days of delivery. You pay return shipping, and the refund is issued when the Seller receives the item.
- Some items cannot be returned once opened for health, hygiene, or safety reasons, or because they were made to your order. The listing says so when this applies.
5. Digital products
Because a digital product is delivered the moment you download or access it, it is not refundable once accessed — except when it is materially different from its description, defective, or cannot be accessed at all. Report the problem from the order page within 14 days of purchase.
6. Services
A service is delivered through a job on Wakato. Your payment is held until you confirm the work is delivered. If the Seller does not deliver, or delivers something materially different from what was agreed, open a dispute from the job before confirming delivery and your payment is held until it is resolved. Once you confirm delivery, the Seller is paid and the job is closed.
7. Subscriptions
A subscription can be cancelled at any time from your orders. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the period already paid for is not refunded.
8. How a dispute works
If you and the Seller cannot agree, open a dispute from the order page while the order is paid or delivered. Wakato's team reviews the order, the conversation, and any evidence both sides provide, and decides within 10 business days. A refund granted by Wakato is returned to your original payment method; card refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
9. Purchases made through an AI shopping assistant
If you bought a Wakato product inside an AI shopping assistant (for example ChatGPT), the same policy applies. Your order exists on Wakato under the email you used; sign in at wakato.io with that email to see it, message the Seller, cancel, or open a dispute.
