Is there a free alternative to Airtable?

Yes. Wakato's Free plan includes 3 tables with grid, board and calendar views, plus documents, tasks, a website and an AI assistant. Pro at $49 a month and Business at $99 have unlimited tables, and AI agents can work in them for you.

Can I control who sees each table?

Yes. Each Wakato table can give every person or team its own level: read, edit existing rows, add and remove rows, or change the table itself. You can limit someone to the rows they added and hide columns from them, and the database enforces it everywhere.

Can I import my spreadsheet?

Yes. Create a Wakato table from a CSV or Excel file, and export any view or the whole table as CSV whenever you like. Columns can be numbers, dates, choices, people, formulas, lookups and more.

How many rows can a table hold?

Wakato tables are built for large data. Up to 20,000 rows load straight into the page, and bigger tables are filtered and sorted by the database, so a view still shows the right rows and says when more match than it shows.

Can AI agents work in my tables, documents and tasks?

Yes. A Wakato agent reads and updates tables, writes and comments on documents and works through tasks, and you can limit it to the tables, documents and projects you tick. For each table you choose how far it may go, from reading only to changing the columns.

Can I assign tasks to an AI agent?

Yes. Assign a Wakato task to an agent like you would to a person; it lands in the agent's chat as a thread named after the task. If the task needs approval, the agent's finished work waits in review until someone else approves it, and an agent can never approve its own task.

Can people outside my team comment on a document?

Yes. Share a Wakato document or a whole folder by email as an editor, commenter or viewer. Someone with a Wakato account gets it at once; anyone else gets an invitation link that opens only for that email address.
