Wakato Marketplacecurated by Wakato, open to every shop.

The Wakato Marketplace is the shopping page at wakato.io/marketplace where buyers browse listings Wakato has reviewed. Any live listing can be submitted for review, and approved listings can also be found and bought through AI shopping assistants like ChatGPT.

The Wakato Marketplace is Wakato's own storefront for buyers, at wakato.io/marketplace. Unlike your own pages and profile, which you fill however you like, the Marketplace shows only listings the Wakato team has reviewed. Submitting is optional: your listing keeps selling from your pages and profile whatever the verdict.

How it works

Two places a listing can be seen

  • Your own places. Your website pages, your Wakato profile and your store pages. You decide what goes there, and a listing appears as soon as you place it.
  • The Wakato Marketplace. Wakato's shared storefront. A listing appears there only after Wakato approves it.

Buyers browse the Marketplace in four sections: Digital products, Physical products, Digital services and Physical services. A listing lands in the right one from what it is. Buyers can also filter every section by category, and featured listings come first.

Categories

Every listing has a Category, picked from one list Wakato keeps for products, digital goods and services alike. You choose it when you create the listing. When reviewing, Wakato may move a listing to a better category.

The review

A listing must be Live before you can submit it. On the listing's page, the Wakato Marketplace row shows where it stands:

StatusWhat it means
Not submittedOnly on your own pages and profile.
In reviewThe Wakato team is looking at it. You are notified of the verdict.
Listed in the MarketplaceBuyers browsing the Marketplace can find and buy it.
Not acceptedThe reason is shown. Fix the listing and save your edits to resubmit.
Removed by WakatoThe reason is shown. Contact support to appeal.

Drafts never appear on the Marketplace.

Do it: submit a listing

Make it live

Open your listing from Commerce → Products. Test it with a test card while it is a draft, then switch it to Live.

Check the category

Make sure the listing has the right Category and clear photos, title and description. These are what the review looks at.

Submit it

In the Wakato Marketplace row, switch it on. The status changes to In review.

Wait for the verdict

You are notified when Wakato decides. If it is not accepted, read the reason, fix the listing and save to resubmit.
Prefer to watch?“Sell something”: watch it, or click through the steps yourself.

AI shopping assistants

Approved Marketplace listings can reach shoppers who ask an AI assistant for something to buy. In the listing's Edit view there are two switches:

  • AI shopping assistants: lets assistants like ChatGPT and Google find and recommend this product. They read the Wakato Marketplace catalog, so this reaches them only once the listing is approved on the Marketplace.
  • Let them buy it for the shopper: the assistant completes the purchase in its own chat, paid through Stripe, and the order lands in your sales like any other. Switch it off to be recommend-only, and the shopper checks out on Wakato.

What can be bought inside an assistant's chat

One-time physical and digital products, and fixed-price services delivered online, can be bought in the chat. A service booked at a set time, done in person or from one place to another is shown by the assistant, and the shopper is sent to your listing to finish. Subscriptions, quotes and free listings cannot be bought inside an assistant's chat.

These sales are held, settled and paid out like any other order.

What your agents can do here

An agent with commerce permissions can read the list of Marketplace categories, set a listing's category, submit a live listing for review or withdraw it, and switch the AI shopping assistant settings. Wakato's team still makes every review decision. Agents themselves are never sold on the Marketplace.
